World Cross Country Championship !!!


Kenyan athletes have predominantly dominated most international long distance races.It is nice to note that the International Association of Athletics Federation(IAAF) has designated Mombasa Kenya to be the venue for the 34th International World Cross Country Championship.Close to 66 member countries of the IAAF have confirmed that they will participate in this event.
Among the notable athletes expected to participate in this race include:
  1. Kenenisa Bekele(Ethiopia)
  2. Paul Tergat
  3. Catherine Ndereba
  4. Susan Chepkemei
  5. Johnson Kemboi winner of the 2007 mombasa international marathon(pictured above).
The local authorities and Kenyan Government have heightened their preparation efforts to ensure that a high level of security is maintained and that the many visitors and tourists receive a comfortable stay in the coastal town of Mombasa an island in the indian ocean.
